Linear 212i Door-Gard Keypad - Programming, Relay Modes, and Troubleshooting
Programming reference for the Linear 212i access keypad: entering program mode, changing the master code, adding and deleting user codes, relay timing and latching modes, auxiliary outputs, panic function, self-test, and recovery when the master code is lost.
Overview
The Linear 212i is a wired access keypad from the Door-Gard Command and Control family. A correct code energizes the main relay (typically releasing a door strike or gate operator input); up to 120 user codes of 1-6 digits each can be stored, and all settings live in non-volatile memory, so nothing is lost when power is removed. The unit ships with a factory default master code and factory timing defaults - change the factory default code immediately; see your Farber delivery packet for as-shipped values.
Wiring basics
Power connects to the TS1 terminal strip: supply positive to +V, negative to -V. The main relay and up to three auxiliary outputs switch external loads; the WB terminal (or wire) is the "keypad active" output - a negative-voltage sink that goes active while the keypad is in use, useful for camera or lighting triggers. A remote-trigger input can energize the main relay (or any outputs you map to it) from a pushbutton inside the coach. Factory defaults: main relay and auxiliary outputs energize 5 seconds; panic drives output 4; red LED = powered, green LED = relay energized; keypress feedback on.
Bench test / self-test
With power applied, key 7890#123456*. If all twelve keys register, the unit enters self-test: the LEDs flash (or the sounder beeps three times) and then hold solid for about three seconds. No response, or no solid phase, indicates corrupted memory - erase and reprogram with the 46 command below, and if it still fails, replace the keypad.
Programming
All programming happens in program mode. The yellow LED (or sounder on models so equipped) is your guide: slow flash = in program mode awaiting a command, fast flash = awaiting the repeat of a new code, solid = error (press * to clear and retry). Every code entry ends with *.

Relay timing and latching modes
Relay times are always entered as two digits (5 seconds = 05). Entering a time of 00 makes that output latch - one code toggles it on, the next entry toggles it off - handy for a shop-hours "hold open" function. Main relay time is set together with the master code: (relay time) # 1 # (new code) * (repeat) * (e.g. 10-second relay: 10 # 1 # ...). Auxiliary output times: 12 # (time) # 0 # * * for output 2, 13#... for output 3, 14#... for output 4. Map the remote-trigger input to outputs with 17 # (output list) # 0 # * * and the panic function with 18 # (output list) # 0 # * * (0 = no outputs).

Lost master code recovery
If the master code is forgotten or stops working, open the housing and momentarily press SW1 on the circuit board (location shown on the wiring diagram). This drops the unit straight into program mode; immediately program a new master with 1 # (new code) * (repeat) *. Because anyone with physical access to the board can do this, the keypad housing must stay secured on passenger-facing installations.
LED meanings
- Red - unit powered (default).
- Green - main relay energized (access granted).
- Yellow slow flash - program mode, ready for command.
- Yellow fast flash - waiting for you to repeat the new code.

Troubleshooting
Keypad dead - no LEDs, no keypress feedback
- Verify supply polarity and voltage at TS1 (+V and -V terminals)
- Check the upstream fuse or breaker feeding the keypad circuit
- Run the self-test after restoring power to confirm the unit survived
Codes accepted (green LED) but door strike or gate does not release
- Green LED means the main relay energized - the fault is downstream; check relay contact wiring and the strike/operator circuit
- Confirm the relay time is not set too short (2-digit value; 05 = 5 seconds) or set to 00 latching mode when momentary was expected
- Verify a per-user 59-command mapping has not routed that user's code to an auxiliary output instead of the main relay
Master code no longer works / master code lost
- Momentarily press SW1 on the circuit board to force program mode, then program a new master: 1 # (new code) * (repeat) *
- Record the new master in the Farber credential record before closing the housing
- If the unit still misbehaves, run the self-test; failure indicates corrupt memory - reset with 46#00000#00000#** and reprogram
Yellow LED (or sounder) goes solid during programming
- Solid = error state; press * to clear (LED should return to flashing) and repeat the step
- Common causes: relay time entered as one digit instead of two, code and repeat entry not matching, or missing the trailing *
Relay stays energized and will not drop out
- Check whether the output time is programmed as 00 - that is latching/toggle mode; enter a valid code again to toggle off, then reprogram a 2-digit time for momentary operation
- Check the remote-trigger input for a stuck or shorted button (default mapping energizes the main relay)
Self-test gives no continuous light/sound at the end
- Retry the test sequence exactly: 7890#123456*
- If it still fails, memory is corrupt - erase and reset defaults with 46#00000#00000#**, reprogram the master and all user codes
- Persistent failure after reset means hardware fault - replace the keypad
